What counts as specialized rigging
When the easy way isn’t an option.
Tight urban lots
Precision dismantle where a crane spreader won’t fit — narrow streets, alley access, neighbor’s fence on the property line. Rope-and-pulley does what a crane can’t.
Poolside or over landscaping
Every piece rigged to avoid the target — pool, koi pond, finished patio, garden bed, the deck the homeowner spent last summer building. Nothing free-falls onto what’s underneath.
Complex multi-stem trees
Split-trunk or codominant stems where one stem governs the cut plan. We stage the rigging so removing one stem doesn’t destabilize the rest.

Crew
TCIA-certified. The same person giving you the estimate is on the rope. Owner-operator on every rigging job — no subcontractors, no rotating crews.
Gear
200-foot bull rope, 10-ton snatch block & hand winch, hitch-pulley systems. All rated, all inspected, all on the truck before we start.
Plan
Every cut pre-planned. Fall zone flagged. Ground crew on every drop. Nothing happens on the rope that hasn’t been thought through on the ground first.
How we work
Walk, set, section, haul.

On-site walk
Assess the tree, the fall zone, the targets, and the access path. We walk the property with you, flag what we’d do, and quote the job on the spot.

Set the rigging
Primary line at the top of the tree, secondary friction-hitch system as backup, redirect blocks where the line needs to change angle. Every piece of hardware load-rated and inspected.
- 03
Section it down
Top first, upper limbs next, trunk sections in pieces sized for the rigging line. Every piece comes down on rope — never a free fall onto a target.
- 04
Buck + haul
Firewood rounds stacked where you want them or hauled off. Brush chipped or carried out by hand. Site broom-clean before we leave.

House, garage, shed, or outbuilding. The tree is in or on the structure, and the priority is getting it off without making the damage worse.
Tree inside a tight fall zone
Targets on more than one side. No safe direction to drop. The cut plan has to control where every piece goes.
Tree over a pool, garden, or finish landscape
Anything you don’t want a 400-pound log landing on. We rig it; nothing falls.
Suburban lot where a boom truck can’t access
Low wires, narrow street, soft ground, HOA rules. The boom truck says no; we say yes.

What's the difference between this and a regular removal?
Rigging operations are piece-by-piece, with every cut controlled by rope on a friction-hitch system. Standard removals can sometimes be dropped whole or in a few large pieces. When a tree can’t be dropped whole — too close to a house, too big, too awkward — that’s when specialized rigging operations are the right call.
Do you bring your own gear?
Yes. We carry our own bull rope, 10-ton snatch block, hand winch, hitch-pulley systems, and redundant rigging hardware — all rated and inspected. We don’t rent gear per job; we own it and maintain it.
How much does it typically cost?
Depends on the size of the tree, the complexity of the rigging plan, and how many pieces the tree needs to come down in. Specialized rigging is usually comparable to or slightly more than a standard removal of the same tree. Free on-site estimate.
Can you remove trees from houses without bringing in a crane?
Yes — that’s the core of this service. Manual rigging with a bull rope, friction hitches, and snatch blocks. No crane spreader needed, no street closure, no $1,500–$3,000 minimum crane bill. The same crew that climbs the tree pieces it down.
Do you coordinate with my roofer or restoration company?
Yes. We’re used to being part of the chain on tree-on-structure work. Happy to be subcontracted to a general contractor or roofer managing the job, and we provide photo-supported invoices for insurance claims.
